Master the Urban Jungle
The Circle of the City draws its power from buildings, streets, and people. These “Urban Druids” make their homes in sprawling settlements, far from the domains of their wild brethren.
An Urban Druid’s magic can twist the city streets into knots and raise maze-like walls in alleyways. They might leap from rooftop to rooftop, commune with doors and walls for information, or transform into a rat to go unseen.
Level 3: Circle of the City Spells
When you reach a Druid level specified in the Circle of the City Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
Circle of the City Spells
| Druid Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Grease, Jump, Shatter, Spider Climb |
| 5 | Meld into Stone, Sending |
| 7 | Fabricate, Stone Shape |
| 9 | Animate Objects, Passwall |
Level 3: City Shape
You can expend a use of your Wild Shape to cast Meld into Stone, Passwall, or Stone Shape without a spell slot.
Level 3: Urban Druid
Your magic and skills are specialized for city life, granting you the following benefits.
Street Savvy. Choose Acrobatics, History, Intimidation, Investigation, Persuasion, or Stealth. You gain a bonus to checks using this skill equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum bonus of +1). You can change your selection when you finish a Long Rest.
Urban Magic. Your magic takes on the aesthetic trappings of the urban landscape. Spells like Entangle, Grasping Vine, Spike Growth, and Wall of Thorns might cause growths of cobblestones, twisting pipes, or broken glass. The spells Speak with Plants, Transport via Plants, and Tree Stride can target structures instead of plants.
Level 6: Object Shape
When you assume a Wild Shape form, you can choose the form of an Animated Object created by the Animate Objects spell. You choose the object’s size (up to Large). At Druid level 10, you can also shape-shift into a Huge object.
Level 10: Wall Warp
When a creature you can see within 60 feet of you takes damage from an attack, you can take a Reaction to cast Wall of Stone between the target and the attacker. When you cast the spell in this way, you create a single 10-foot-by-10-foot panel that is 1 inch thick (AC 15, 30 HP, and Immunity to Poison and Psychic damage), which disappears at the end of your next turn. The panel takes the damage of the attack and disappears early if it is reduced to 0 Hit Points.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest. You can also restore your use of it by expending a level 3+ spell slot (no action required).
Level 14: Urban Colossus
While shape-shifted into an animated object, you gain the following benefits.
Armor Class. Until you leave the form, your AC equals 18.
Limited Damage Threshold. Once per turn when you take less than 10 damage from a single attack or effect, you can reduce that damage to 0.
Multiattack. You can use Slam twice when you take the Attack action.
Unstoppable. You can move through the space of any creature. Moving through its space doesn’t cost you extra movement, but you can’t stop in the same space. If the creature is your size or smaller, it takes Bludgeoning damage equal to 2d6 plus your Wisdom modifier and has the Prone condition when you enter its space. A creature can take this damage once per turn.
